Abstract
We show that in jetted models of gamma ray bursts (GRBs), such as the cannonball (CB) model, all the simple correlations discovered recently between pairs of observables characterizing the optical and gamma ray emissions in GRBs are a consequence of the strong dependence of the GRB observables on the Lorentz factor and viewing angle of the highly relativistic jet.
