不认识的GeV暂现源 AGL 2103+5650

 Fermi和Agile的报道有点儿冲突,前者给的上限比Agile的观测值还低。

We report on Fermi/LAT observations of the gamma-ray transient AGL 2103+5650 as reported by the AGILE collaboration (ATel #3544).
Using the data obtained during the same time frame in which AGILE saw a 4.8 sigma detection (i.e., 2011-08-08 04:10 UT to 2011-08-10 09:04 UT), we carried out an unbinned likelihood analysis of a circular region of 10-degree radius around the position (R.A.=315.8 deg, Dec.=56.5 deg; J2000). All 2FGL catalog sources within 20 degrees from the above position are modeled, as well as the Galactic diffuse and the isotropic diffuse components. No significant gamma-ray emission above 100 MeV was detected in the LAT data. We place a 95% C.L. upper limit at ~9.8 x 10^-8 ph/cm^2/s between 100 MeV and 300 GeV, which is lower than the reported flux of (3.0+/-0.9) x 10^-6 ph/cm2/s (E > 100 MeV) in ATel #3544.

AGILE is detecting intense gamma-ray emission above 100 MeV from a source at Galactic coordinates (l,b) = (95.15, 6.49) +/- 0.53 deg (95% stat.) +/- 0.1 deg (syst.) (R.A.,Dec.=315.8, 56.5 deg, J2000).
Integrating from 2011-08-08 04:10 UT to 2011-08-10 09:04 UT, a maximum likelihood analysis yields a detection at a significance level of 4.8 sigma and a flux of (300+/-90) x 10E-8 ph/cm2/s (E > 100 MeV).
Integrating from 2011-07-22 10:46 UT to 2011-08-08 07:25 UT we obtain only a 95% C.L. upper limit of 21 x 10E-8 ph/cm2/s (E > 100 MeV).
No prominent extra-Galactic or Galactic gamma-ray sources are known within the AGL 2103+5630 error box.
This measurement was obtained with AGILE observing a large portion of the sky in spinning mode.
Multifrequency observations of the AGILE source error circle are strongly encouraged.
