Lipunov 2014 FRB的诞生率和双中子星并和率不矛盾

主要内容:
一般认为FRB的诞生率太多,可能只有部分是来自于双中子星并和(这部分应该和短暴成协)。但作者用Scenario Machine这个工具(没看懂原理)发现可以是所有的FRB都来自双中子星并和。

Abstract

We discuss the recently reported discovery of fast radio bursts (FRB) in the framework of the NS+NS (or NS+BH) binary merger model. We concentrate on what we consider to be an issue of greatest importance: what is the neutron star merger rate given that the FRB rate ($10^{-3}$ yr$^{-1}$ per galaxy) is inconsistent with GRB rate as discussed by Thornton et al. (2013) and should be significantly higher. We show that there is no discrepancy between neutron star merger rate and observed FRB rates in the framework of the Scenario Machine population synthesis. As for the lack of positive detections in LIGO experiment, its silence is consistent with our astronomical observational data for NS mergers and is in a small contradiction with our expected detection rate for binary BH.
